State Attorneys General’s Offices can apply for grants to support their investigative and litigation work through the State Center’s Grant Program.
We offer grants for free consultation with a member of our Panel of Economists (covering up to 20 hours of their time) to help an early evaluation of the economic impacts of a merger or a preliminary assessment of possibly anticompetitive or deceptive conduct. Similar grants are available for statistical work, data analytics, and financial and econometric modeling.
We also offer grants for free consultation by computer scientists in areas of data technology and data practices, including machine learning as well as dark patterns. Our standard grant offers up to 20 hours of consultation with a member of our Data Technology & Practices Panel.
Additionally, we offer grants for assistance from a full-service consulting firm, which provides expertise in surveying and statistics, data analytics, and financial and econometric modeling that can support investigative work and litigation in many industries.
We also offer grants for free consultation with an E-Discovery expert to offer guidance in how to prepare for effective discovery of electronic documents, including social media.
We also offer grants for other investigative and litigation purposes, including retention of other experts and other services and projects.
The State Center does not condition its grants, including both scholarships for attending an educational or training event as well as grants for all expert services or other projects, on any commitment to repay those monies. However, in the event a State pursues a matter and ultimately recovers costs, the State Center appreciates the opportunity to receive repayment if feasible. The State Center also appreciates receiving donations but does not accept corporate funds.
